Frequentis AG: Order from London Metropolitan Police underlines trust of blue light organisations
FREQUENTIS AG: Order London Met Police
Vienna
(pta012/20.01.2020/10:49 UTC+1)
* Contract from London Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to upgrade its Command and Control system
* Innovative multimedia communications platform 3020 LifeX(TM) to support the realisation of the "Total Digital Policing Strategy" at one of the most powerful police organisations worldwide
The London Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), with its headquarters "New Scotland Yard" in Westminster, is responsible for the police services of the British metropolis and the Greater London area.
Frequentis AG (ISIN: ATFREQUENT09) has been responsible for the communication systems in the MPS control centres for 15 years. Now Frequentis has been selected as a key contractor to Leidos, a globally active IT company, for the modernisation of the MPS command and control system, underlining the trust placed in the Austrian high-tech company.
Frequentis will provide its innovative multimedia communication software 3020 LifeX(TM) for the new command and control system that will coordinate the deployment of police officers in future. As a further partner in the project, Hexagon will provide its HxGN OnCall®(TM) public safety solution, already proven to work seamlessly with LifeX(TM).
The contract is part of a 10-year programme to implement the "Total Digital Policing Strategy" of the MPS. Using the latest technology, the aim is to exploit the possibilities of digitalisation for police operations to reduce crime, cut costs, and boost confidence in the fight against crime in London.
The Leidos project team, including Frequentis and Hexagon, will deliver a flexible system for emergency communication. The new system will be used to digitally coordinate police operations in the event of a disaster or during pre-planned events such as sport events or parades.
"Frequentis is proud to continue its longstanding, successful partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service, now as part of the Leidos team.
Frequentis systems have been in use for the London Police Service since 2005 and were upgraded ahead of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, ensuring the police in London were fully supported - there has not been a single system failure in all these years," says Frequentis CEO Norbert Haslacher.
The reference system is of particular importance as the Met Police is one of the world's most important police organisations, always using state-of-the-art technology. The current order is further proof of the reliability of Frequentis' 3020 LifeX public safety software product, which is already being used successfully by other large public safety organisations in Great Britain, Germany, and Austria.
