MS Industrie AG: Extension of Manufacturing Premises and Renewable Power Supply in Trossingen / Return to the United States of America
München (pta014/23.11.2022/12:00 UTC+1)
Munich, November 23rd, 2022. The Management Board of MS Industrie AG (WKN 585518; ISIN DE0005855183) provides information on current developments regarding the 100% subsidiary MS Powertrain Technologie GmbH (hereinafter referred to as "MS PTG") and its production site in Trossingen/Schura, Baden-Württemberg.
As a single-source supplier, MS PTG manufactures high-precision and complex products and systems for small, medium and large series – in addition to the heavy commercial vehicle industry, also for power generation in demanding shipbuilding, for drives in the construction, agricultural and mining industries and for stationary energy technology in the extraction of new raw materials.
In order to be able to meet the steadily increasing customer call-offs in the coming years as well as the newly acquired series orders, MS PTG is expanding its production area at the Trossingen/Schura site by around 3,500 square meters. The extension creates space for a state-of-the-art and automated machine park as well as for a cold storage in the outdoor area. The investment costs amount to around EUR 4.9 million. Under the leadership of a very competent team, construction is on schedule, so completion is expected in the second quarter of 2023. Today, the topping-out ceremony will take place on site.
Further investments are being made in the expansion of the photovoltaic system in Trossingen/Schura. In addition to the existing system with approx. 1,600 kWp installed in 2021, a total output of approx. 3,800 kWp is expected as a result of the expansion. MS PTG uses over 90% of the electricity itself and will cover about 20% of its annual demand after expansion. Figuratively speaking, with a CO2 saving of around 2,000 tonnes per year, around 1,100 households could be supplied. With the expansion, this is the largest industrial photovoltaic system in the Tuttlingen district.
At the beginning of 2023, MS PTG will again establish and build a location in the USA. In the future, products for American customers will be manufactured "local to local" from this location.
