MS Industrie AG: "MS Powertrain Technology" changes name to "MS XTEC"

The 100% subsidiary MS Powertrain Technologie GmbH, Trossingen, changes its company name to MS XTEC GmbH by mid of the year. This step reflects the further strategic development of this important segment of MS Industrie Group.

Dr. Andreas Aufschnaiter, member of the Management Board of MS Industrie AG: "MS Powertrain is constantly evolving. Since long we have ceased to be just a manufacturing service provider, but today we offer more technologies, performance and services. We machine a wide variety of systems and components with the highest level of precision – and we want to demonstrate that with the new brand name."

The new name consists of three elements: MS, X and TEC. "MS" because the segment emerged from the original "Maschinenfabrik Spaichingen"; in addition, the affiliation to the MS Industrie Group is emphasized. "X" because it clarifies the flexible and adaptable orientation for all industries. "TEC" reflects the complex technologies and state-of-the-art production concepts of this segment.

In a permanently changing environment, MS XTEC will act even more flexibly and quickly because future requirements across all industries must be met with greater customer proximity, including through "local-to-local" production, in Europe and North America.

"As MS XTEC, we are not only expanding our capacities, but also our portfolio for new industries and applications that are no longer just in the powertrain sector, as was the case in the past. As before, we will continue to be active in drive areas such as heavy goods traffic, H2-ready vans and alternative drives. In addition, we offer solutions for agricultural and industrial applications as well as at the new location in the USA in the areas of aerospace, defense, medical and after sales", says Armin Distel, member of the Management Board of MS Industrie AG.

Background:

MS Industrie AG, headquartered in Munich, is the listed parent company of a focused technology group with the two business areas powertrain technology ("MS Powertrain": systems and components for heavy-duty combustion engines and hybrid or electrical drive solutions) and ultrasonic technology ("MS Ultrasonic": special machines, standard machines and ultrasonic systems and components). Key customer industries include the global commercial vehicle and passenger car industry, followed by the packaging machine industry, the medical and other plastic processing industries as well as the general mechanical and plant engineering industry.
