Press Release QluPod AG
Herisau, Switzerland QluPod AG, August 7th 2023 (www.qlupod.com)
We do not make this statement lightly, but refer to the article on Fierce Healthcare's website from 1st August 2023 about the nationwide telemedicine service and Amazon Clinic's expansion into all 50 states in the US. Amazon has recognised that the 35 most common health problems can also be treated online. Through the Amazon website and an app developed by Amazon, patients can connect with doctors or nurses across the US. The consultation takes place online and the medical professionals can write prescriptions for medication or refer the patient to a clinic based on the diagnosis made.
Telemedicine improves health care
We at QluPod also welcome the further development of telemedicine. Online consultations enable doctors and medical professionals to treat patients over long distances. This is a great advantage for people with limited mobility. Telemedicine also improves health care for the population in rural areas or in countries with a poorly developed infrastructure. This provides effective relief for hospitals, shorter waiting times at the doctor's office and cost savings in public and private health expenditure.
Point of criticism: Medical prescription only possible after exact diagnosis
However, we also hear and understand the critics who disagree with this development. The doubters of the online consultation argue that the doctor cannot make an accurate diagnosis based on the patient's statement. The patient only describes the symptoms, the origin of which cannot be determined with certainty without measuring the vital signs. This can lead to a misdiagnosis or the wrong treatment method.
The solution: a portable health monitor to measure six vital signs
This is exactly where the QluPod health monitor comes in with its proprietary software. It is a portable monitoring device that allows the user to independently measure six vital signs: Blood pressure, temperature, ECG, blood oxygen, heart rate and blood sugar. With these current values, the doctor is able to accurately determine the clinical picture and prescribe the appropriate medication or therapy.
QluPod announces that the Pro app for Android and iOS is expected to go live in mid-September 2023. Until that time, interested parties can pre-order the QluPod device at a preferential price. Register on our website at www.qlupod.eu to find out the terms and conditions for subscribing to the Pro version of our innovative QluPod app.
