Frequentis AG: FREQUENTIS enhances aeronautical information management in New Zealand
Vienna / Austria (pta014/03.06.2024/11:11 UTC+2)
- Airways New Zealand has again selected Frequentis with its aeronautical information management (AIM) solution
- Project will upgrade Airways New Zealand to the latest Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) 5
- The transition from AIXM 4.5 to AIXM 5.1 enables aviation stakeholders to streamline their operations, improve decision-making, and elevate overall safety and efficiency
Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) has long been recognised as the de-facto standard for the exchange and management of aeronautical information, facilitating efficient data integration and interoperability across various aviation systems. In a significant move towards modernisation and streamlining of their aeronautical information management (AIM) system, Airways New Zealand has again entrusted Frequentis with the upgrade from AIXM 4.5 to AIXM 5.1 in order to support newer aviation technologies and enhance interoperability.
This upgrade introduces new features, including publication of ICAO Digital Data Sets and enhanced briefing capabilities, revolutionising the way aviation information is utilised. Simultaneously, it paves the way for future enhancements like Digital NOTAM (notice to airman).
"AIXM 5.1 empowers aviation stakeholders with enriched data precision, streamlined data exchange, and enhanced data integrity, enabling them to make smarter decisions and achieve higher levels of safety and operational efficiency. We are pleased to be working on another project with our esteemed customer Airways New Zealand, offering them our most advanced solutions to meet their evolving needs," states Constantin von Reden, Managing Director Frequentis Comsoft and member of the ATM Executive Team.
The Frequentis Group's AIM solution is a complete system landscape of modular components that provide full interoperability along the digital aeronautical data chain. ICAO Digital Data Sets offers a full digital publication of aeronautical data in a SWIM (system-wide information management) compliant manner and will gradually replace paper documents. Additionally, the enhanced briefing capabilities of AIXM 5.1 further contribute to improved situational awareness and decision-making.
"We have been working together for such a long time now, and once again, we've chosen Frequentis and their AIM solution. We are excited about the new high availability platform and efficiencies gained through its integration with the Frequentis message handling system deployed in 2022," says Phil Pascoe, project manager at Airways New Zealand.
