Beno Holding AG: full occupancy of its property in Dortmund

BENO Holding AG (ISIN: DE000A11QLP3), a specialized portfolio holder and asset manager in the field of commercial real estate, has achieved full occupancy of its vacant property in Planetenfeldstrasse in Dortmund with a total rental area of around 18,000 m² shortly after completing a substantial transformation and energy modernization.

Successful transformation underlines sustainability strategy

BENO has modernized the building complex in Dortmund, which was built between 1970 and 1980 and consists of five halls and office space, and converted it from a single-tenant property into a multi-tenant property, which minimizes the risk of rental losses. A newly installed 2 MW photovoltaic system supplies the tenants with green electricity directly from the roof.

Within a short time, BENO was able to conclude indexed green lease agreements with four new tenants. "We are delighted to have fully re-leased one of the largest properties in our portfolio shortly after completing the modernization and transformation into a multi-tenant property," explains Michael Bussmann, CEO of BENO Holding AG.

"From an energy perspective, we have completed the first major step on the EU's decarbonization path. Our property is already achieving very good energy values. By taking further steps to refurbish the building shell and heating system, we can reduce primary energy costs and CO2 emissions even further in the future," explains Julian Fischer, member of the BENO Group's management board and responsible for the transformation project in Dortmund. "In the medium term, we are also looking into further modernization measures such as electricity storage or waste heat recovery to improve the already very good values even further. This will not only benefit the environment, but also our tenants, as operating costs will be further reduced in the long term."
