Dr. Hönle AG: Hönle Group achieves a balanced operating result with sales of €98.7 million in the 2023/24 financial year

According to preliminary and unaudited figures, the Hönle Group achieved the following results in the 2023/24 financial year:

• sales of €98.7 million (previous year: €106.3 million)
• adjusted operating result (adjusted EBIT) of €0.03 million (previous year: €7.1 million)
• adjusted operating result before depreciation (adjusted EBITDA) of €5.5 million (previous year: €13.0 million)

The values ​​are therefore at the level of the recently communicated targets in which the Management Board had forecasted sales of around €98 million and a positive operating result (adjusted EBIT) for the Hönle Group for the 2023/24 financial year.

Sales revenues compared to the previous year are reduced by 7.2% to €98.7 million. In addition to low investments in mechanical and plant engineering, the Hönle Group's business development was also affected by the weakness in the automotive sector. As part of the strategic restructuring of the group, focus and growth areas were defined and application areas were discontinued that were not part of the core business. This included, among others, adjustments to the book value of goodwill and inventories, which had a one-off impact on the operating result in the 2023/24 financial year of EUR 10.3 million. The operating result (EBIT) therefore was -€10.3 million in the past financial year.

Outlook

Based on the opinion of leading economic experts, the Management Board of Dr. Hönle AG expects a cautious business development, with a revival in business activity not until the second half of the year. In view of the currently challenging market environment in many sectors, the Management Board expects sales between €95 million and €105 million for the Hönle Group in the 2024/25 financial year. Due to the cost control measures initiated, the Board expects an operating result before depreciation (EBITDA) that will be above the adjusted EBITDA result for the 2023/24 financial year (€5.5 million).
