Pankl Racing Systems AG: Fire at Pankl Systems Austria GmbH - Forging Systems

On the evening of 17.11.2017, Pankl in Kapfenberg suffered a fire in a side wing of the forging house. Fortunately no one was injured in the fire.

According to current information the cause was a defect in the exhaust system. The rapid and exemplary intervention of our employees and the emergency services prevented major damage.
Only four manual sharpening workstations, two finishing machines and to a lesser extent the neighbouring shot peening machine were damaged. All other units such as the presses, the heat treatment and the pickling line are not affected and have been activated today in the morning.
Therefore the damage was limited and we will restore the damaged facilities within a few days so that there will be no supply shortage.
