iQ International AG: SIA restarted production

iQ International is pleased to announce that production at our majority owned battery factory, SIA, has restarted after the Italian government mandated the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. The mandated shutdown was later cancelled, as lead-acid battery manufacturers were deemed an 'essential business'.

SIA positively used the shutdown time to secure all factory installations and complete a thorough annual maintenance program. With the reopening, SIA is well positioned to serve its customers. As Europeans take back to the roads, SIA will help ensure that the mobility and transportation sectors have the security of battery supply after the car park has sat idle for an extended period, during which, this could potentially impact battery failure.

In addition to serving its historical European customer base, iQ International is working diligently to qualify SIA as a supplier for US and Middle East customers requesting batteries with the specific 360° electrolyte Mixing(TM) technology of iQ International.

With the restart of SIA now completed, the company intends on building the necessary tools to proceed with an expansion of its product offering to include JIS standard batteries for Asian vehicles, which is of great importance for sales to the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.
