Nexus AG: NEXUS Acquires Solution Specialist for Digital Pathology

With the acquisition of dc-systeme GmbH, Heiligenhaus, NEXUS is investing in a leading solution specialist for "Digital Pathology". In addition to the software range, the company has specialized in the development of solution components, which accelerate the digitization process in pathology. 

Recent years have shown that the weight of pathology in medicine continues to increase. Pathologists have now a decisive role, especially in tumor diagnostics and the associated increasing prognostic and predictive statements: At the same time, they are getting an increasingly important role in quality assurance in medicine. The means at the same time a considerable expansion of tasks for pathologies: An enormous challenges for all involved.

The digitization of pathology and cytology processes is therefore playing an increasingly important role. It considerably facilitates and accelerates professional exchange and enables an efficient division of tasks. Above all, however, the use of AI and modern image processing will enable an expansion of analytical-microscopic diagnostics.

NEXUS is todays market leader in Germany and Austria with the software solutions NEXUS/Pathology and NEXUS/Cytology. More than 200 pathological and cytological institutes rely on the NEXUS solution. By acquiring dc-systeme, activities in this area can be bundled further and focused even more intensively on the highly attractive market segment of "Digital Pathology and Cytology".
