iQ Power Asia announces the first shipment of 2 containers of Automotive Starter Batteries to the Russian market following the re-start of the Korean factory..Previous cooperation under the former management of iQ Power Asia was discontinued due to erratic delivery performance. The CEO of the Russian company MAXINTER, Mr. Melnikova confirmed that his company will resume distribution of the batteries through his established nationwide network, which is concentrated mainly east of the Ural Mountains in the Asian part of Russia.
Bob Sullivan, CEO of iQ Power Asia, welcomed Mr. Melnikova of MAXINTER for a visit to iQ Power Asia in Gwangju, South Korea, this week to discuss new product promotion programs. MAXINTER markets the batteries with iQ Power technology under the brand GEM. GEM will be one of 3 major brands to be showcased to both fleet and repair shops. Mr. Melnikova has indicated that he has already placed advertising in automobile and transportation specialty magazines and will place ads on the electronic billboard at several football stadiums in Eastern Russia next season. MAXINTER sponsors three different football teams as well as volleyball and table tennis teams, which travel throughout Russia and also internationally.
MAXINTER is one of the largest buyers of batteries in Eastern Russia and distributes a large number of automobile products imported from overseas as well as several Russian brands (http://maxinter28.ru). Mr. Melnikova explained that Russian customers do not trust very much the Russian brands and are willing to pay more for imported batteries. Korean batteries are very popular because of the good price performance relationship.
Russia, with a population of over 200 million people, is a large market, which is funded through export sales of oil, mining and raw materials. Due to on-going trade difficulties with certain countries, the imports of batteries from Turkey and Korea are increasing steadily, despite an economic downturn. Sales of replacement batteries are not affected by economic downturns, because no one will stop driving due to a dead battery.
Batteries with iQ Power technology are designed to generate better performance in Start-Stop applications and to meet the growing demands of electronic usage in vehicles today. Electrolyte mixing, is the first significant innovation to the flooded starter battery in decades. Automatic mixing of electrolyte inside the battery ensures uniform acid density for higher sustained performance throughout the entire life of the battery. This prolongs plate life by eliminating acid stratification and thermal gradients, delivering greater material utilization for a lower cost per cycle over conventional batteries. The patented technology was awarded the coveted Automechanika innovation award 1st prize in 2010.
