Dr. Hönle AG: Adjustment of the outlook for the 2023/24 financial year

As communicated in the last capital market statement, the Management Board continues to assume that there will be an upturn in business activities in the second half of the financial year. However, the increase in sales and earnings will be weaker than initially expected by the end of this financial year and will partly be postponed into the new financial year. The Hönle Group suffers from the weak market environment in machinery and plant engineering. In addition, there were project postponements in the solar industry and electromobility business. An increased volume of inquiries is not yet reflected in a corresponding sales development in the current financial year. Overall, the Management Board now expects sales of about €100 million for the Hönle Group in the 2023/24 financial year. Previously, it had assumed sales of between €105 million and €115 million. Furthermore, the Board expects a positive operating result (EBIT). Previously, it had assumed an operating result of between €6 million and €9 million.

The Hönle Group achieved lower sales and results in the first six months of the 2023/24 financial year compared with the same period of the previous year due to the weak market environment and order delays. Customer demand fell noticeably, particularly for printing applications. After an operating result of T€ -779 in the first quarter, the operating result in the second quarter will be positive, as expected.
