Sun gibt die Ergebnisse für das dritte Quartal des Geschäftsjahres 2006 bekannt

Weltweiter Umsatzzuwachs um 21 Prozent

Wien (pts048/25.04.2006/23:34) Sun Microsystems kündigt die Ergebnisse für das dritte Quartal des Geschäftsjahres 2006 an, das am 26. März 2006 endete.

Der Umsatz im abgelaufenen dritten Quartal des Finanzjahrs 2006 erreichte 3,177 Milliarden Dollar, was einem Anstieg um 21 Prozent im Vergleich zum dritten Quartal im Finanzjahr 2005 mit 2,627 Milliarden Dollar entspricht. Die Zunahme des Umsatzes im Jahresvergleich ist sowohl auf die in der jüngeren Vergangenheit erfolgten Akquisitionen als auch auf einen Zuwachs bei den traditionellen Produkten zurückzuführen. Die Bruttomarge lag bei 43 Prozent, ein Anstieg von 1,6 Prozentpunkten im Vergleich zum dritten Quartal 2005.

Der Nettoverlust nach US GAAP (US-Bilanzierungsregeln) im aktuellen dritten Quartal 2006 betrug 217 Millionen Dollar oder 6 US-Cent je Aktie. Im Vergleich dazu verzeichnete das Unternehmen im dritten Quartal 2005 einen Nettoverlust von 28 Millionen Dollar (1 US-Cent je Aktie).

Der Nettoverlust auf Basis von US GAAP im abgelaufenen 3. Quartal schließt ein: 87 Millionen Dollar im wesentlichen auf die jüngsten Akquisitionen bezogen (Wertberichtigungen auf immaterielle Anlagen), Aufwendungen von 57 Millionen Dollar für die Bilanzierung aktienbezogener Vergütungsprogramme (SFAS 123R / "Share Based Payment"), 36 Millionen Dollar für Restrukturierungsmaßnahmen sowie 4 Millionen Dollar durch Zugewinne aus Wertpapiergeschäften und damit einhergehenden steuerlichen Vorteilen von ebenfalls 4 Millionen Dollar. Der Netto-Einfluss dieser fünf Faktoren macht rund 5 US-Cent je Aktie aus. Der Cashflow im operativen Geschäft betrug im dritten Quartal 197 Millionen Dollar. Die Summe an Barmitteln und Wertpapieren belief sich am Ende des Quartals auf 4,429 Milliarden Dollar.
