From August 21st to 25th, attendees of SWISSARTEXPO 2024 at the SBB Event Hall in Zurich's Main Station will have the chance to explore the mesmerizing works of Sinisha KASHAWELSKI.
Sinisha KASHAWELSKI's art is a fascinating exploration of realism, infused with enigmatic and sublime elements drawn from his inner life and profound thoughts. His paintings often resemble intricate picture puzzles, designed to engage the viewer's imagination and encourage them to decipher the underlying narrative. "My art is primarily based on realism, enveloped by mysterious elements that come from my inner life and thoughts on sublimity," says KASHAWELSKI.
KASHAWELSKI masterfully combines the precise techniques of the Old Masters with surreal components from various temporal realms, creating seamless and evocative images of figures and dreamlike landscapes. This fusion results in a visual experience that is both familiar and otherworldly. He predominantly works with oil paints on canvas and occasionally on wooden panels, a tradition rooted in Byzantine icon painting and still practiced in Macedonia today. Through this medium, KASHAWELSKI merges his cultural heritage with contemporary themes, creating artworks that are rich in both historical reference and modern relevance.
His artworks have been showcased internationally, earning numerous awards in countries such as Germany, Italy, Spain, the USA, and France. Notably, he has exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in the Grand Palais in Paris and was awarded the first prize at the Palm Art Award 2016 in Germany. He has also won multiple medals from the Societé des Artistes during the Salon at the Grand Palais in Paris. Additionally, KASHAWELSKI was commissioned to create the ceiling painting for the National Theatre in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia.
