Yesterday, the Val de Bagnes Tennis Club and the municipality of Val de Bagnes hosted the official inauguration of their new padel and pickleball courts in Verbier. Padel and pickleball are conquering Switzerland - including Verbier
Padel, a mixture of tennis and squash, is becoming increasingly popular in Switzerland. Padel courts have skyrocketed in recent years, and pickleball, another dynamic racket sport, is becoming increasingly popular. It is estimated that there are currently over 100 padel courts in Switzerland, and the number of players is steadily increasing.
An opening ceremony for all those who are enthusiastic about padel and pickleball
The opening ceremony, attended by many padel enthusiasts, provided an opportunity to explore the new facilities and enjoy the benefits of these dynamic sports. Active padel players were present and demonstrated their skills. The official ceremony was marked by speeches from the Vice-President of the Municipal Council, Vincent Michellod, and the President of the Val de Bagnes Tennis Club, Jérôme Michellod.
Vincent Michellod said: 'The municipality of Val de Bagnes, in collaboration with our clubs, promotes sporting activities for our young people, and racket sports are an important part of this. Everyone should benefit from our infrastructure.'
Jérôme Michellod added: 'The Val de Bagnes tennis club is following the padel activities with great interest and, with the support of the municipal authorities, is considering integrating them into the management of its club.'
A varied programme for padel and pickleball enthusiasts
The offer goes beyond the new courts: Five Sports Management also offers padel and pickleball training. Whether beginner or advanced, everyone will find the right course here. In addition, the courts can be booked directly at the Centre Sportif Verbier until the end of October, daily from 8:00 to 22:00 via the Centre Sportif website.
