6th International IIR Congress


Vienna (pts009/02.03.2006/08:10) The 6th time in 2006 the Institute for International Research (IIR) in Austria organizes the http://www.iir.at/u/DV953">EPCON Central and Eastern European Congress on Liberalization of the energy market of seven CEE countries and as a special highlight energy market information of Turkey. The event takes place in the Congress Casino Baden near Vienna. More and more companies in the electricity and gas industry are exposed to keen competition and have to develop strategies to survive - how they progress and practice, as well as the experiences made by Scandinavian companies and their policies will be presented on the event. These exciting inputs are accompanied by different discussions with the Ministries, Regulation Authorities and EU Members. Due to this fact knowledge and experiences can be exchanged.

Speakers at the conference are Central and Eastern European Ministry and Regulatory Authority Members: From Czech Republic (Josef Firt), Hungary (Isztvan Pataki), Romania (Alexandru Sandulescu), Slovakia (Jan Klepac), Slovenia (Gorazd Skerbinek). They will inform about their actual liberalization status and get in touch with EU Commission Members on the conference.The second part of the conference is concentrated on global players in Central Eastern European and Western European countries: Vattenfall -Sweden, Gazprom - Russia, MOL - Hungary, Cez - Bulgaria and many more. Finally, the third day we get in the Turkish energy market with actual hot topics and the market situation there.

The main focus of the conference is set on exchange of experiences and knowledge about the liberalization and unbundling process amongst Eastern and Western European companies including Scandinavian and Northern European players. The topics are highly interesting with a good mix of economical, financial and legal subjects.

To top the conference festivities off, the competition for the http://www.iir.at/u/DV953">EPCON AWARD - powered by Accenture - will be open for the first time also to Eastern European companies in the energy sector.
